I really like how I've been playing Lim O8 lately... it's prob b/c we're playing so low in those nick dime games that I don't ever feel fear. If you feel fear, short buy! New concept. Play 25bb... Find 1 good spot and go w/ it. If that game's not running open a nick dime and dime 20 and they'll prob fill up.
If there is not a good Omaha 8 thing to do and you don't feel ready to jump into a cash-game, play a cheap double or nothing. You will have to make 1-2 moves. Just make 'em. Play low enough where you're not afraid.
This is not the time to take shots. This is the time to return to what has been working for months, specializing and game selection. Yes, the PLO 2xs were total cake and now they're not. That doesn't mean that they're not beatable as fuck. You just have to adjust. It's all a flip! It's not like NL where you might run your JJ into AA or whatever. This works for and against you.
PLO high: If your move doesn't take down the pot (and you must have fold equity) then you'll probably be 45%.
PLO8: If you don't take down the pot/steal the blinds etc, you'll often back into 1/2 the pot if you play the right hands.
You want 1 caller. If you get so short that multiple players are sure to call your jam just to end the match/get the KO, then you fucked up. Go w/ the 1st mway hand you get.
Tonight is about refocusing.
Scout the games. Take your time. Make sure you have edge before you sit. Not doing that is impatient and lazy, just like staying so level 1 about certain shit is.
GAME SELECT. FOCUS. SPECIALIZE.
SECONDARILY STAND UP WHEN IT FEELS RIGHT!
The HORSE games are bad. The S8 games are bad. That doesn't mean that any 1 session is gonna go well. Don't play H unless the group sucks. What if you pretty much sat out H, S? Nobody notices or cares.
Just stand up.
Getting the .10/.20 games going is lower variance. Might as well start the table esp @ peak hours.
DON'T PLAY OFF THE RESERVATION UNLESS YOU REALLY WANT TO/IT FEELS RIGHT.

RECOGNIZE THAT IF YOU'RE TIRED OR FRUSTRATED OR TILTED OR JUST GENERALLY NON-PLUSED/DON'T SEE WHAT TO PLAY RIGHT AWAY... IT'S PUTTING YOUR $ IN BAD JUST HOPING THAT YOU'LL WIN.
